Vending Solutions
Vending Solutions offer support programs for students, prize promotions and now bring information to you online about where you can find vending machine locations for all your favourite drinks and snacks.
As part of the QUT community for over a decade, Vending Solutions is committed to go beyond its responsibility of providing, quality convenience food and beverage products and help students.
Work Experience:
Vending Solutions is actively looking for ways to engage QUT students in various real-world projects that offer tangible, career enhancing opportunities.
Proposals for other vending-relating (paid or unpaid) work-experience projects are invited. Full details of your proposed initiative may be sent to Chris Pollard for consideration at: qutbursary@vendingsolutions.com.au
Students Award Project:
In Semester 2, 2008, a project was offered to students in the Faculty of IT. Students were involved in the design and development of an interactive website—which you are currently viewing—to introduce vending services at QUT. The project leveraged the skills students had acquired from previous units, and offered a challenging, ‘real-world’ application. From a learning perspective, students applied their respective skills and competencies from two diverse, but related fields in the design, development and implementation of a web-site. Along with a generous financial award on completion of the projects, students gained valuable experiences from working with team members from a different discipline, self-directed progress and time-management skills in completing tasks and meeting specified deadlines, among others.
Have you a great idea that could be developed into a student-centered project to advance learning within your area of study?
Must be vending-related and applied to learning outcomes for a specific unit. Talk to your Unit Coordinator about developing a proposal for consideration by Vending Solutions for sponsorship. Academic staff interested in championing such proposals should send details to Chris Pollard at: qutbursary@vendingsolutions.com.au
Vending Solutions Postgraduate Travel Bursaries:
Now into its third year, Vending Solutions travel bursaries are offered to QUT postgraduate students where synergies exist with its business operations and can provide high-appeal benefits for these QUT students. Past recipients have come from, but not limited to, coursework and masters students in Business and Health.
Postgraduate students with an interest in vending are offered the chance to travel to the US to attend a National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) vending expo or other travel possibilities, based on their own interest areas as a means of gaining a greater understanding of the broader vending industry and to advance their studies and their careers.
The bursary is valued up to a maximum of $5,000 and will cover airfares, accommodation and conference registration fees (arranged by Vending Solutions), along with a daily allowance to cover meals, airport transfers and other associated travel costs.
Sponsor of the Learning Potential Fund (LPF):
QUT believes that all students no matter what their social, economic, or personal backgrounds deserve the opportunity to succeed. It is with this belief that QUT has committed to raising a minimum of $20 million for a perpetual fund over the next ten years to support this important cause.
The QUT Learning Potential Fund was established to provide scholarships and bursaries to support our disadvantaged students. As an endowment fund, each year the capital base is invested and the interest returns fund the scholarships and bursaries for students who need our support. To date, 1500 students have already benefited from the QUT Learning Potential Fund.
